Kentucky Ag News Headlines 'Measure the Candidates' Video Posted on KFB Site Kentucky Ag Connection - 07/29/2010 Video from Kentucky Farm Bureau's "Measure the Candidates" forum on July 22 with U.S. Senate nominees Jack Conway (D) and Rand Paul (R) is now available for online viewing. The 2-1/2 hour event, including a post-event press conference with each of the candidates, can be found in its entirety at kyfb.com/federation/video. Nine separate video segments are posted on the site, divided by the topic being addressed. The "Measure the Candidates" forum is conducted to inform candidates on current agricultural issues while simultaneously allowing the Kentucky Farm Bureau Board of Directors to learn more about each nominee's position on a series of pre-determined topics. Items addressed in the forum with Conway and Paul included: energy, environmental regulations, fiscal policy, health care, immigration and farm labor, international trade and marketing, and national farm policy. Those topics were followed by an open question and answer session with the board of directors, and then the members of the media were given 10 minutes with each candidate in a press conference setting.
