Hall to be Inducted Nov. 17; Scholarship Fund Established
Kentucky Ag Connection - 09/19/2019

The Saddle and Sirloin Club, which is comprised of the national livestock industry's most honored and distinguished figures, will induct its newest member, Robert "Bob" Hall Jr. Nov. 17.

Over 90 individuals wrote letters of support for Hall to the selection committee conveying his worthiness to be inducted into the esteemed club. As is tradition for this honor, Hall's oil portrait will be presented to the Saddle and Sirloin Club at his induction ceremony and will be added to the exclusive club gallery. Renowned artist Mr. Richard Halstead painted Hall's portrait and all preceding portraits since 1990 and is credited for capturing the inductee's character and personality.

Hall has been dedicated to animal agriculture for more than 70 years and is the long-time owner and president of Central Kentucky's Farmers Feed Mill and its Hallway Feeds brand, which supplies Thoroughbred farms, racing stables, and sport horse customers with custom feeds.

"It is extremely humbling," Hall said. "This is a mountain peak that you always look at and never think you are going to reach. To get to the top of it, it is something special."

In honor of Hall's induction, the Robert Hall Jr. Award Fund has been established at Blue Grass Community Foundation to provide awards to the winning team and coach of the National Collegiate Livestock Judging Contest, held annually at the North American Livestock Exposition. Bob's desire to support collegiate livestock judging is rooted in the opportunities for both personal and professional growth it afforded him while a member of the judging teams at the University of Kentucky. To support the Robert Hall Jr. Award Fund, tax deductible contributions may be made via check payable to: The Robert Hall Jr. Award Fund and mailed to Blue Grass Community Foundation, 499 East High Street, Suite 112, Lexington, KY 40507, or by visiting https://bgcf.givingfuel.com/donate-now.

The ceremony will take place at the Kentucky Fair and Expo Center in South Wing C. Cocktails will be served at 5 p.m, followed by dinner at 6 p.m. and the program and presentation thereafter. Tickets to the award dinner and reception are $100 per person. To reserve tickets for the dinner, please visit: www.roberthallsaddleandsirloin.com or contact Julia Hall at julia@hallwayfeeds.com.
