Ag Development Regional Workshops Announced
Kentucky Ag Connection - 02/08/2010

The Governor's Office of Agricultural Policy (GOAP) announced the dates and locations of 11 regional workshops for administrators of Kentucky Agricultural Development Fund (KADF) programs.

GOAP's compliance team, area project analysts and others will discuss all policy, guideline and process changes concerning KADF programs, including the changes to the County Agricultural Development Councils that will be implemented this year.

The regional workshops are also designed to be an interactive learning session that will assist KADF program administrators with reporting requirements. The workshops provide an opportunity for participants to exchange ideas and experiences with other program administrators, extension agents, county council members and GOAP staff.

"These workshops are critical in communicating the new policy and program changes to the agricultural community," said Roger Thomas, executive director of GOAP. "They have proven to be extremely beneficial. I strongly encourage everyone interested in learning more about the agricultural development process and 2010 changes to attend."

This is the fifth year the workshops have been held, but this is the first year that the workshops are mandatory for any organization administering KADF programs at the county level. Others involved in the agricultural development process are also encouraged to attend.

Those wishing to attend one of the workshops below should RSVP by contacting Kylee Palmer or Jennifer Daniels at (502) 564-4627 or govkyagpolicy@ky.gov so that ample materials will be available. Additional information is also available at agpolicy.ky.gov.
