Governor to Proclaim National Small Business Week
Kentucky Ag Connection - 05/02/2016

The Kentucky Small Business Development Center announced that Gov. Matt Bevin will issue a proclamation officially declaring May 1-7 National Small Business Week. KSBDC requested this of the governor in order to raise awareness of the importance of the contributions made by Kentucky small businesses.

In honor of National Small Business Week, the Kentucky Small Business Development Center and the U.S. Small Business Administration will host Kentucky Celebrates Small Business May 3 at the Capitol Rotunda in Frankfort. The event will recognize outstanding small businesses from across the state. KSBDC will present Kentucky Pacesetter awards to businesses that are changing Kentucky's economic landscape by introducing innovative products, increasing sales and/or production, boosting employment and serving their communities. The Kentucky district office of the Small Business Administration will recognize the outstanding accomplishments of small businesses, advocates and individuals.

"Small businesses are the unsung heroes of our economy, and we are thankful that Gov. Bevin is recognizing their many contributions to our state," said Becky Naugle, Kentucky Small Business Development Center director.

KSBDC, part of the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture, Food and Environment, is a network of 13 offices located throughout the state. The center helps existing and start-up businesses succeed by offering high quality, in-depth and hands-on services. KSBDC is a partner program with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
