Bevin Makes Appointments to Boards and Commissions

Gov. Matt Bevin has made the following appointments to Kentucky Boards and Commissions:
- John Anthony Mocker Jr. has been appointed to the Tourism Development Finance Authority. Mocker of Union is vice president and partner of LB Industries, a major processor and distributor of steel pipe serving national and international markets. Mocker
shall serve for a term expiring April 21, 2020.
The Tourism Development Finance Authority consists of nine gubernatorial appointees. The Authority makes and conditions loans from the Tourism Development Loan Program.
- Allan Bryant and Joseph Platt Sisk have been appointed to the Agriculture Water Quality Authority. Joseph Lawrence Thomas, Amanda Gumbert, Charles Joseph Taylor and Keith L. Rogers have been reappointed.
Bryant of Eminence is a farmer. Bryant shall serve for a term expiring October 1, 2020. He will represent the Kentucky Association of Conservation Districts. Sisk of Hopkinsville is a farmer. Sisk shall serve for a term expiring October 1, 2018. He will
represent at-large agriculture operations.
Thomas of Elizabethtown is a farmer. Thomas shall serve for a term expiring October 1, 2020. He will represent the Kentucky Farm Bureau Foundation. Gumbert of Lexington is a water quality coordinator for the University of Kentucky. Gumbert shall serve
for a term expiring October 1, 2020. She will represent the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture Cooperative Extension Service. Taylor of Louisville works as a water resource section head at the Kentucky Geological Survey. Taylor shall serve for a
term expiring October 1, 2020. He will represent the Kentucky Geological Survey. Rogers of Frankfort is chief of staff for the Kentucky Department of Agriculture. Rogers shall serve for a term expiring October 1, 2020. He will represent the Kentucky
Department of Agriculture.
The Authority is a multidisciplinary peer group that evaluates, develops and improves best management practices in conservation plans, compliance plans and forest stewardship management plans. The Authority establishes statewide and regional agriculture
water quality plans and otherwise promotes soil and water conservation activities that protect Kentucky waters from adverse impacts of agriculture operations within the state.
- Amanda Holmes Rowland has been appointed to the Kentucky Board of Veterinary Examiners. Holmes Rowland of Danville is a veterinarian. Dr. Rowland shall serve for a term expiring September 28, 2020.
The Kentucky Board of Veterinary Examiners consists of eight members, all appointed by the governor. The board's purpose is to regulate and control the licensing and conduct of veterinarians within the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
- Mark Frederick Sweet has been appointed to the Board of Professional Geologists. Sweet of Richmond is a geologist and land surveyor for Shield Environmental Associates. Mr. Sweet will represent geologists. He shall serve for a term expiring July 14,
2020.
The Board of Professional Geologists regulates and controls the licensing and conduct of professional geologists within the commonwealth of Kentucky.
